§ 27-51. Speed limits.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate a vehicle of any kind or description through the streets, roads or highways of the city at a greater rate of speed than 25 miles per hour, or as otherwise posted on the streets, roads or highways of the city.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to drive at a greater rate of speed than is posted in a school zone. Whoever violates the posted speed limit in a school zone shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed 1½ times the penalty imposed for speeding violations.
