§ 2-113. Department of civil service.

  • The department of civil service is responsible for managing city human resource programs such as staffing, job applicant and promotion examinations, position classifications, annual employee appraisals, pay plan procedures, terminations, and personnel records. This department is also responsible for coordinating the various employee benefit programs.

    The director acts as the secretary of the civil service board, providing the board with administrative support for board meetings, background research of issues, employee appeals, and other duties as directed by the civil service board.
