§ 3-05. Mayor's Absence and Disability.

The council shall provide by ordinance for the designation of a qualified city officer or employee to serve as acting mayor during the temporary absence of the mayor from the City or inability of the mayor to perform the duties of the office. The council, in said ordinance, shall define "temporary absence" and "inability to serve," and shall provide for determining when such conditions exist and for when absence or disability is terminated.
